Ema, green light of the European Parliament, the agency will have more powers

Rome, 21 January – The European Parliament welcomed the interim agreement reached with the Council of the EU to increase the powers of the EMA, the European Medicines Agency. Under the agreement approved by MEPs with 655 votes in favor, 31 against and 8 abstentions, the EMA will be better equipped to monitor and mitigate shortages of medicines and vital medical devices and to deal with public health emergencies.
