Rome, December 17 – Yesterday morning the Carabinieri of Taranto, following an order issued by the Gip of the Taranto Court at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, imposed an eight-month restrictive individual precautionary measure against the owner, as well as the technical director Taranto and an on-call doctor (the so-called doctor on duty) associated with the Asl of Taranto, who was found responsible in connection with an aggravated and ongoing fraud against the Asl of Taranto.
There are a total of eight doctors participating in Taranto’s ASL basic medical service, Nas himself said.
The investigation, which resulted from the seizure of drugs without a visual sticker reading (the so-called punch), which took place at the pharmacy under investigation, allowed the collection of serious evidence of fraud committed by Taranto ASL, which was deceived, paid the amount of approximately € 9,000.00 for the compensation of medicines that were never requested, nor were they delivered to unsuspecting customers. All based on prescriptions that are believed to be false and which would have been written by the doctors involved.
The development of the research activity made it possible to identify the prescriptions that would have been prepared by the doctor affected by the discount measure even when he was not on duty at the doctor, omitting the commentary in the above-mentioned register of outpatients. The pharmacist, in turn, kept the neutralized drugs in her own pharmacy, did not deliver them to the patients and then filed the illegal claim for compensation with ASL.
