Ukraine, war destroys health care: in millions without treatment, half pharmacies closed

Rome, March 25 – The impact of the first 28 days of the conflict on the Ukrainian health system was “catastrophic”. More than 1,000 health facilities are located near the lines of the conflict, with 64 confirmed attacks on health centers, resulting in 15 deaths and 37 injuries. This was stated, according to Ansa, the European office of the WHO, according to which about half of the Ukrainian pharmacies could now be closed.
Covid-19 vaccination and standard vaccination have also been discontinued. Many health workers are displaced or unable to work, according to the WHO, which highlights how millions of people are currently without treatment.
